The Anthem VIP Demo got off to a rocky start with players facing server capacity issues right off the bat when the demo went live the morning of January 25. The first day of the VIP demo has uncovered a number of issues, and as developer BioWare works to fix them, it has posted a forum thread to share the known issues.

EA Community Manager Jesse Anderson shared the issues, of which there are four at the time of this writing:

  1. Infinite loading screens when launching the game or entering an expedition.
  2. Unable to get past the Anthem title screen.
  3. Some Xbox One players are unable to access the Anthem VIP demo.
  4. Some players are unable to access their Anthem VIP demo friends codes.

Those playing the Anthem VIP Demo and experiencing any issues should stick tuned, as Anderson wrote that the list will continue to be updated as issues are resolved or new issues are discovered.

While the issues are no doubt frustrating for many hoping to enjoy the VIP Demo this weekend, it appears that the popularity and hype behind Anthem are leading to a large number of players checking out the demo and more server issues than BioWare and EA expected.

While players have come to expect game betas are server tests to experience some of these server issues, the fact that BioWare instead called this a demo led many to believe that this experience would be more stable. At least this weekend's run of the demo should allow BioWare time to identify these issues, and hopefully to resolve them, before even more players descend upon the demo when it opens to public next weekend.

The VIP Demo runs until Sunday, Janaury 27 at 11 p.m. EST/9 p.m. PST.It appears that many of those initial issues keeping players from even signing into the VIP Demo have subsided, but obviously, players will have to continue to contend with the four issues listed above. The public demo begins Friday, February 1 at 11 a.m. EST/9 a.m. PST.

Anthem releases February 22, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
