BioWare’s highly anticipated sci-fi shooter Anthem is having its VIP demo this weekend, which will let players take their Javelins for a spin in a wide variety of activities as part of a small sample. The VIP demo is actually reserved for those who pre-ordered the game, but thankfully players can gift some VIP demo codes to friends so they can join in on the action.

To gift friends a copy of the Anthem VIP demo, players must first link their pre-order to their EA account. If pre-ordered through a retailer like GameStop, players will have a code that they can enter on EA’s website to give their account demo access. It is worth noting that players who pre-ordered through their console store will get the ability to share codes when the demo goes live.

Once players have redeemed their demo code, they can go to Friend Pass and snag the link that will allow up to three friends access to the VIP demo. All console players need to do once the demo goes live is link their EA account to their console account and then they will have full access to the VIP demo.

Players can pre-load the demo from their respective platform store regardless of if they have access to the VIP demo or not. For those who do not have access to the demo, this download will work for the public demo that runs from February 1 through February 3. Players will be able to team up with friends to play through some story content, a stronghold, and free-roam. Any progress made in the VIP demo will carry over to the public demo, but not to the main game.

While players may not have access to the full map in the demo, there is plenty of content for players to tackle either solo or as a group. The demo is meant to give players a sample of what Anthem is all about so players know what they are getting into on day one. Hopefully, plenty of players will get to enjoy the demo thanks to the ability to give codes to friends.

Anthem launches February 22 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
