Information on the closed Alpha for Anthem were made available today, along with dates it is running and how players can get in. EA and BioWare are calling for players to try their high profile MMO shooter, but warn that space is limited.

According to a recent post on EA's official website, the Anthem closed Alpha is right around the corner, running from December 8-9, 2018. Interested testers can head to that page to learn more about dates and requirements to be considered.

Even after signing up, however, it isn't a guaranteed invite. The information site stresses that the game will be constantly adjusted through the Alpha, meaning servers may be down for periods or be forced to reset. Because of the chaos that can ensue during these testing periods, it will be limited to a small group of players and will be done in multiple sessions.

Neither the site nor the company itself divulged what parts of Anthem players would get to experience, and those in the closed Alpha are required to sign an NDA, preventing them from spilling details. We'll likely learn more about its contents when it goes live.

If none of this is enough to deter you, head over to the EA Community Playtesting website and sign up. The deadline is next Monday, December 3.

Shortly before the Alpha kicks off, Anthem will be appearing at The Game Awards on December 6. A teaser trailer was just released that announces the title's presence at the event, but there isn't much to it. The nine seconds of video is merely meant to hype up a brand new trailer that will be introduced on stage by Casey Hudson, BioWare's general manager.

The game's release may just be a couple months away, but there is still plenty that can be shown off. Many are hopeful for more information on the game's story or details on endgame content. Until the event, we can only speculate, but the show provides a great opportunity to wow audiences.

Those unfamiliar with Anthem, or those trying to catch upwill find plenty of information online to digest. EA and BioWare have been regularly releasing details through blog posts and livestreams. The most recent Anthem livestream was hosted by Lead Producer Ben Irving, who took part in a 50-minute session to go in-depth on Javelin customization. The video shows what players will be able to do to individualize their characters.

Anthem is currently scheduled to launch on February 22, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
