Anthem is BioWare's first new IP in 10 years, and at the Game Awards 2018, players got a new glimpse at the upcoming online multiplayer action RPG. This newly launched trailer gives players a glimpse at everything from crew members and factions to story details and enemies. As a freelancer, Anthem players will have access to a crew composed of Haluk, Faye, and Owen.

Like the PC, Haluk is a freelancer and a strider pilot, with the two having a long-running history together. Faye and Owen are cyphers, citizens of Fort Tarsis who are trained to use Anthem's Anvil of Creation to broadcast somehow themselves long distances to help guide the players. Another faction in the game is known as the Sentinels, which is led by a quest giver named Brin.

Highlighted in the trailer is the antagonistic faction known as the Dominion, which is led by the big bad enemy of the trailer. This militaristic order wants to obtain peace through force, has attacked other settlements prior to Anthem's Fort Tarsis, has access to javelins, and is led by an enigmatic figure known as the Monitor. Check him out in the trailer below:

One major story reveal is that the Anthem is an unknowable force of creation and destruction that can tear open the fabric of reality, grant immense power to the user, create life, and even terraform the environment. Ancient beings known as Shapers had the tools to use it, but nowadays, no one really knows what it even is. However, the Monitor believes he can harness it to bring about the order he desires, likely doing more harm than good

In the end, there is a sensory overloads' worth of information here, but it seemingly casts a bright future for Anthem. The Alpha Test for this game takes place on December 8-9, but that isn't the last time players will get their hands on this title prior to launch. In January, there will be a VIP demo, and an open demo will also follow in early February.

Anthem will release on February 22, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
