Ant-Man 3 has nothing to do with the currently delayed fourth phase of the MCU. As such, Disney and Marvel haven't released many details on what exactly the plot of the movie will cover.

But, recent news confirms Peyton Reed, the director of the first two Ant-Man installments: Ant-Man, and Ant-Man and the Wasp, has signed back on to direct Ant-Man 3. Also, the writer handling Ant-Man 3's script will be Jeff Loveness, a writer and co-producer on Cartoon Network's hit-show Rick and Morty.

For those unfamiliar with his resume, Loveness penned Rick and Morty's fourth season episode "Claw and Hoarder: Special Ricktim's Morty." But he's better known for his work on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Miracle Workers, and The Onion News Network. He's also written actual Marvel comics before, handling heroes such as Nova, Groot, and even Spider-Man.

Funny enough, Loveness isn't the first Rick and Morty writer recruited into the MCU. Disney also nabbed Jessica Gao, the writer of Emmy Award-winning episode "Pickle Rick," to work as the lead-writer to the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk. It'll be interesting to see if Disney grabs any other writers from the show in the future.

Ant-Man 3 will shrink into theaters at an undisclosed time.
