Though, the most important aspect is the storytelling. Without a cohesive and interesting plot and direction, there will be little to tie all the cool elements together. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has all of these aspects in spades, therefore fans of this incredible video game will be sure to love anime that are composed of similar features. Particularly fantasy and dark fantasy shows with lots of combat and magic. There are a few that stand out as especially attractive for lovers of The Witcher 3.

10 Attack On Titan

Those who enjoy the mystery and horror of monsters that appear from an obscure origin will enjoy the intensity of Attack on Titan. The hideous fiends from The Witcher 3 come from a parallel dimension, which is only ever hinted at. This leads to a hazy and intriguing mystery that makes combating these inhuman adversaries more mystical and causes one to crave more knowledge about them.

The colossal threats in Attack on Titan have a similar mystique in that they come from the shadows of time, though they are no mere illusions of danger. They break through city walls and brutally devour people. Thankfully for the citizens of such settlements, there are those that fight against these giants who aim only to kill and consume. Fans of fighting supernatural threats with up close and personal sword-wielding will surely appreciate the action in this anime.

9 Bleach

fight scene from the bleach anime where two of the main characters fight

It is not often that an anime runs for as long as Bleach has. Producing many hundreds of episodes is no small feat, and fans of this show will attest to the worthiness of its long history on TV. Haunting imagery almost beyond human ken proliferates this series and make it greatly suitable for enthusiasts of similar visuals in other media.

There are also tons of interesting characters who do battle against sinister specters, and sometimes each other, using special blades that can transform majestically under the right circumstances. The world is also very detailed and scratches the itch of those who crave deep lore and intricate world-building.

8 D.Gray-man

the main antagonist from the D.Gray-man anime with many monster minions

Fiendish foes are in great supply in D.Gray-man. Allen Walker, a young man who has just become an exorcist, battles against the Millennium Earl alongside his friends in order to end the distortion of spirits. The Earl uses the souls of the departed as material in creating his evil machines known as 'Akuma'.

Battles are not quite as straight forward in this anime, as foes are not just mindless beasts, but souls trapped within aggressive and apathetic husks. This creates a wealth of interesting scenarios where Allen and his allies must figure out ways to defeat the Earl and his minions without harming innocents being manipulated by foul necromancy.

7 Black Clover

asta, protagonist from the anime black clover, standing among light energy

In a world where everyone is born with innate magical abilities, being unable to cast spells makes one an outcast. Looked down upon by others for his lack of such traits, Asta from the anime Black Clover grows up under disrespecting gazes by those who simply brand him as different.

All witchers get treated similarly, though this does not stop them from fighting threats to humanity. Asta very much does the same with a magic-nullifying black greatsword that he finds in a strange magical tome with a black five-leafed clover upon it. Unrelenting determination combined with fantastic animation awaits The Witcher 3 fans in need of such a TV show.

6 Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files

Yu Yu Hakusho anime cast

Demonic forces and original powers make Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files one of the best animes to watch for those desiring a unique twist on animes involving beings from the underworld. The story follows the hoodlum-turned-hero Yuusuke as he comes into contact with the supernatural and learns of another world parallel to his own.

Each character, even minor ones, have motives, dreams, and aspirations that make the cast of this show well rounded and empathetic, despite many of them not even being truly human. There are great arcs throughout the entire series, including ones where Yuusuke and his friends traverse other worlds full of demons.

5 Drifters

main characters from the anime drifters in a cool action pose

This anime takes a bit of a different turn when it comes to depicting legendary figures from Japan's past. Drifters is a show that sends viewers back in time, though not to a setting with the usual consistency. For all of the main characters are gathered to a strange amalgamated plane of existence from different time periods. Those that would have lived hundreds of years apart are brought together for an unknown purpose.

However, this does not stop them from forming alliances and doing battle with one another. They even plot and scheme between epic battles, which will surely hook fans of such events in The Witcher 3. Furthermore, there is plenty of action-oriented bloodshed to indulge in.

4 InuYasha

the main characters of the anime inuyasha traveling together

Pale-haired swordsmen who aren't fully human can be found in InuYasha as well. The eponymous character, Inuyasha, is a half dog-demon warrior who battles some full demon foes alongside a group of human warriors and friendly demons who seek to preserve Japan from evil.

Those in need of an adventure depicting heroes slaying demons with an overhanging threat of corruption should definitely check this anime out.

3 Berserk

Berserk Musou - Best Hack And Slash Games Aside From Hyrule Warriors

There are few dark fantasy anime as legendary, or as influential, as Berserk. It has an incredibly cool protagonist, setting, and supporting characters, that have made an impact in tons of other media, including some of the most renowned games of the decade.

The majority of Berserk's screentime follows Guts, a might swordsman, who transitions from being the captain in a powerful mercenary group into a warrior possessed by vengeance. Following Guts' departure from the Band of the Hawk, he travels the unforgiving lands and battles hordes of monsters and demons; oftentimes with only his blade and wits to accompany him. Not unlike a certain witcher.

2 Rurouni Kenshin: Wandering Samurai

red haired ronin kenshin draws his katana

As someone who wanders from village to village seeking work utilizing his blades, Geralt is not too dissimilar to a ronin from feudal-era Japan. As such, he can be compared to traveling swordsmen like the red-haired protagonist from the late '90s anime Rurouni Kenshin: Wandering Samurai.

Scarred by a dark past, Kenshin is a cool customer with a sinister character ghost and a life full of struggles. However, this doesn't stop him from enjoying laughter and friendships as well as the other calmer aspects of life. He's a man who can relax in his downtime but can unleash his insane swordsmanship when the situation calls for it.

1 Claymore

female warriors with swords from the claymore anime standing over a dead monster

There are many strong female characters in The Witcher 3. Triss and Yennefer, as well as the other sorceresses that Geralt meets in his adventures, are undeniably mighty, though they all rely on magic. Ciri, on the other hand, gets up close and personal with her foes in order to rend them limb from limb with equal, if not greater, ferocity than the White Wolf himself.

Those who enjoy sword-oriented combat and are fans of Ciri will love Claymore. The story follows Clare, a young woman who was enhanced by supernatural means to become strong enough to fight monsters, as she defends humanity from abhorrent aberrations that plague the world. There are a ton of awesome fantasy fight scenes to enjoy.
