The animated fight scenes that fans drool over are spectacles to behold when the main character lets loose on the main antagonists or a group of ne'er-do-wells. While the main heroes of the story usually resort to violence as a last resort, in some cases, the protagonist actually goes out looking for trouble.

Craving a battle, or wishing to cause some chaos and put their strength to the test, a protagonist who loves to fight is often a popular archetype in anime. These types of characters are usually hot-headed, have poor focus, or are incredibly lazy unless a fight is involved. When it suits them though, these anime heroes love a good fight.

8 Spike Spiegel - Cowboy Bebop

Spike captured the hearts and respect of fans all over the world for his “Whatever happens, happens” attitude. However, Spike is far from a pacifist.

When thrown into the chaos of conflict and combat, Spike likes nothing more than to demonstrate his dominance in martial arts and firearm proficiency. More often than not, Spike was leagues ahead of his opponents and enjoyed toying with them by utilizing his fast movements and impressive striking skills.

7 Bunshichi Tawara - Tenjo Tengae

In a school where most of the political decisions are decided by fighting, Bushinchi Tawara fits right in. Tenjou Tengae is an action martial arts anime that focuses on a school that houses deadly fighters of various skill types. The strongest in the school control everything and are the feared elite.

Contrary to the ranking in the school, Binshichi is the strongest fighter in the series. Bushinchi possesses devilish strength, allowing him to completely destroy a full-sized vehicle with his bare hands. In a fight, Bunshichi uses his ogre-like power to completely overwhelm his opponents. However, to his detriment, Bunshichi is usually a lazy person who only lets loose when there's a fight on the line.

6 Aoi Todo - Jujutsu Kaisen

Aoi Todo is the resident powerhouse of Jujutsu Kaisen, second only to Satoru Gojo. He is a heaping mass of muscle and fury and loves to engage in hand-to-hand combat. Todo has a menacing personality that unnerves most of his classmates because of his unpredictable and eccentric nature.

Preferring to truly know a person through fighting them all out with no restrictions, Todo has a unique question he asks his potential opponents, which, in his mind, gives him an honest impression of who they are at their core. Perhaps one of the most battle-hungry characters in all of anime, Goku thrives on fighting strong opponents and can only find satisfaction in defeating his foes when they are at their very strongest. Goku has been one of the most dominant fighters since the early days of Dragon Ball and continues to surpass his own limits and reach new heights.

On more than one occasion, Goku has put the safety of the planet at risk in the hopes of finding a strong opponent that can force him to go all out and push him to get stronger than he already is. In addition, on several occasions, Goku has allowed his opponents to heal, recover, and escape in hopes he may fight them a second time and get a better fight in their next encounter. Most of Goku's drive for battle stems from the Saiyan blood that runs through his veins and forces him to seek out combat.

4 Zaraki Kenpachi - Bleach

No other anime character thrives in exchanging blows with their opponent as much as Zaraki Kenpachi of Bleach. Having earned the title of Kenpachi, which is only held by the strongest Shinigami, Zaraki slew the previous holder and became the captain of squad eleven by sheer force.

Zaraki loves nothing more than carving up his opponents and being cut by their attacks. In his own words, there is no sensation better than being on the battlefield. Zaraki is indiscriminate as to who or when he fights. He is open to challenging anyone aside from a select few within the Soul Society out of respect. Zaraki has a wild and vicious style of fighting, and, up until recently, he was dependent on his strength alone, disregarding the abilities of his Zanpakuto.

Yujiro has dedicated his entire life to becoming the strongest being on earth and is commonly known as the Ogre within the Baki universe.

Yujiro is internationally feared as an unstoppable demon who knows no equal and fights wild animals with his fists. At the slightest chance of fighting, Yujiro appears like a specter, fully prepared to put his life on the line and face anyone who may stand as a challenge to him. Yujiro fights nature itself just to assert his dominance over everything before him. In the numerous demonstrations of power, Yujiro has destroyed an oak tree with a finger, halted an earthquake with brute strength, and defeated an entire army on his own.

Saitama is the epitome of power and strength. Having trained himself to surpass the limits of the human body, he has obtained monstrous power capable of destroying worlds. Saitama’s motivation stems from his intense need to become a hero and defeat all of those who threaten the lives of innocent people.

However, this power came at a cost. Saitama is so strong that he is constantly let down by being able to easily dispatch his foes with one punch. Because of this, on extremely rare occasions where he meets an opponent able to withstand his blows, Saitama yearns to fight seriously with disregard for the safety of those around him.

In his eternal existence, more than anything else, Alucard has become bored with mundane weaklings he can dispatch easily. So, when he is finally allowed the privilege of releasing the restrictions placed upon him, he becomes enthralled in combat and never wishes it to end.
