There are hundreds of characters to meet and befriend in the long line of Animal Crossing games with a variety of different personalities, likes, dislikes, and races. Several of these Villagers are bears, and one of the most teddy-bear-looking of them all is Stitches. He's a lazy Villager that most players either find adorable or a little creepy.

Stitches began his Animal Crossing career with his introduction in Wild World back in 2005. He has continued his lazy way through City Folk, then New Leaf, and onto the newest in the series, New Horizons. Stitches has also appeared in several of the spinoff games of the series, like Pocket Camp and Happy Home Designer. Unlike many other bear Villagers like Teddy and June, Stitches doesn't resemble a real bear, but a stuffed child's toy instead. He is a multi-colored bear with sewn X's instead of eyes, looking like he was sewn together from scraps of fabric instead of being all one color. He is one of only five Villagers in any Animal Crossing game that technically isn't an animal; although bear shaped, he's more of a toy than an actual animal.

Stitches was born February 10, making him an Aquarius and the only bear Villager born in that month. He does not share his birthday with seasonal Animal Crossing characters or any other Villager currently. When not calling the player "stuffin'" or lounging around, Stitches can be found in his toybox-like home, decorated to look like a children's playhouse to fit his look as a teddy bear.

Who is Stitches in Animal Crossing

Being Lazy, Stitches is fairly easy to befriend in any game he appears in. He loves colorful items, playful furniture, multi-colored clothing that is Funky, and likes his coffee with one sugar and just a splash of milk. He dislikes "cool" or "iconic" items that players can present to him as gifts. Although this Villager has been around for a long time, he still regularly hits the top-most tier of Animal Crossing Villager tier lists, along with Bob and Lucky.

Stitches is usually found wearing his iconic white shirt with multi-colored stars all over it, called the "Starry Tank," "Star Shirt," or "Star Tee" depending on which Animal Crossing game players are currently playing.

But whether players consider him to be the cutest, most desirable bear or something out of a toy-themed nightmare, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players consider him a coveted Villager, and he was one of the many most-sought after in the Animal Crossing Villager Black Markets.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for Nintendo Switch.
