In the year since its initial launch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become something of an online phenomenon. While its popularity was certainly helped by the pandemic forcing people around the world to stay inside and visit their friends through the medium of video games, the game also has plenty of interesting features and cute customization options available. However, one Animal Crossing: New Horizons player and their dad are working together to bring one of the game's cutest furniture options to life.

As of version 2.0 Animal Crossing: New Horizons features roughly 1,900 furniture items, many of which were added in post-launch updates. One of these furniture items is the Froggy Chair, which is listed alongside the Lily-Pad Table as part of the Froggy Set.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can get the Froggy Chair in a variety of different manners, including buying it from Nook's Cranny, snapping it up at Redd's Treasure Trawler, shooting it down in a balloon, or even finding it up a tree. However, Reddit user jaysonoah has enlisted their father--a retired carpenter and organ builder--to help them get ahold of a Froggy Chair in real life as a Christmas present. They shared a photograph of the in-progress build, which is already taking on the easily recognizable shape of the Froggy Chair.

At the moment, the real-life Froggy Chair consists of a wooden rounded seat with a raised circle and a wavy wooden back. According to jaysonoah, about 20 hours of work have gone into making it so far, with most of the time being put into getting the design of the chair back right. Apparently, this version of the Froggy Chair also features better ergonomic back support than the original. This isn't the first time an Animal Crossing fan has brought a furniture item to life, but it may be one of the most carefully crafted.

As of writing, it appears that other Animal Crossing fans are excited to see the iconic Froggy Chair in real life. Several users have expressed their excitement at seeing the chair come together. One user went out of their way to note that this chair's ergonomic back will likely make it far more comfortable than other attempts at recreating the Froggy Chair. A second user demanded that jaysonoah share pictures of the final chair when it's finished, which jaysonoah agreed to do. When asked about colors, jaysonoah noted that they would probably stain the chair green and paint the froggy face, but keep the wood texture showing through.
