Fans of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp may want to hold off updating their Apple devices to the tech company's latest operating system update, iOS 14.  The Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Twitter account has addressed the software news in an official statement, revealing how the game will not start on Apple devices running the latest software.

It was stressed how Nintendo is planning to fix the issue in an upcoming update, which gamers can expect to be released within the month. Until that point, however, the company has recommended players not update to iOS 14 until it has suitably fixed the prevalent issue. The Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp account shared how it appreciated gamers' patience in the matter, but did not provide a firm date on when its fanbase could expect the needed update.

Apple held a "Time Flies" event last night. It revealed a new Apple Watch, new iPad updates, a bundled subscription service called Apple One, and, crucially, that the latest version of its proprietary software will be made available on Sep. 16. The software will be available for iPhone and iPad and joins its additional watchOS and tvOS operating systems that comprise the Apple ecosystem. Given Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp's statement on the update, however, it appears as though not every developer was aware or fully prepared for iOS 14's imminent release.

Originally released in 2017, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a free-to-play social simulation mobile game based on Nintendo's popular Animal Crossing series. The game is available to play on iOS and Android devices and allows gamers to encounter several social situations that sees them interact with other campers. They can perform fun, relaxing tasks like fishing as they trade materials and customize their avatars' living spaces with different furniture that appeals to their personal taste. Where Animal Crossing games tend to give players free rein within a town environment, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp sees them decorate a campsite instead. They can meet neighboring animal characters who can visit their campsite alongside other human players, helping to stimulate the community themes the game is known for.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp leans into a microtransaction currency called Leaf Tickets. These Leaf Tickets allow players to reduce in-game timers or craft items without raw materials they would otherwise have to gather and earn. These Leaf Tickets can be acquired by completing in-game tasks or, of course, by buying them with real-life money. Despite some controversies over certain ideas, including a subscription service, the game has accrued a number of accolades since its release in 2017. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp won the award for "Studio of the Year" at the 2017 Golden Joystick Awards. It was also nominated for "Best Mobile Game" in IGN's Best of 2017 Awards.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is available now on Android and iOS.
