After the success over the Sanrio amiibo cards in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the franchise's mobile spinoff, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, has added on to its own line of Sanrio-inspired items. Additionally, many of the rereleased items are the same as the ones given with the Sanrio amiibo cards for New Horizons.
Nintendo finally released a bit of major content with the recent Sanrio amiibo cards. These amiibo cards recently released for Animal Crossing: New Leaf and were compatible with New Horizons, but only yielded a few stylish posters. But a line of cards specifically made for New Horizons launched to great success—and fan relief. For some time, fans have been complaining that New Horizons doesn't exhibit the variety of furniture that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp does and players were starved for some new additions to the Switch title. Now, however, it looks like Pocket Camp continues to have a leg up against New Horizons.
The mobile game now has another line of Sanrio-inspired clothing items that players can pull from the fortune cookies, its version of a gacha or loot box. This means that it will cost Leaf Tickets. The Sanrio fortune cookies will be available until May 10, so players have approximately a month to save up some Tickets and pull for the adorable items.
Previously, Pocket Camp released a line of Sanio furniture items that were found in their respective fortune cookies, such as the Pompompurin cookie, which could yield themed items like a bed, couch, or dress. Many of these items are the same as the amiibo card items from New Horizons, and the fortune cookies released today yield the same items in addition to new clothing items. Each Sanrio character has new clothes—dresses and wigs are shown in the trailer—as well as a plush.
There are several re-released fortune cookies up for sale, such as the Hello Kitty cookie, the Cinnamoroll cookie, and the Kiki and Lala cookie, but there's also a general Sanrio characters cookie. These can yield a general slew of Sanrio items from various characters, including the aforementioned ones, but Pocket Camp also has a few items inspired by other characters as well, such as Pochacco and Kuromi, who both have their own dresses and plushes in the game as well.
As per usual, one item from a fortune cookie costs 50 Leaf Tickets, but players can also purchase fortune cookies in bulk at the stand for 250 Leaf Tickets.
