Over the past couple of years, there have been multiple stories about older gamers racking up massive play-times in games or coming up with inventive ways to enjoy their favorite titles. These include the 84-year-old great grandmother who had caught almost every Pokemon in Pokemon GO to the elderly man who uses 11 devices to catch 'em all. Now, the hardcore gaming grandparents club welcomes a brand new member.

On Twitter, game developer Paul Hubans shared the story of his 87-year-old grandmother who has played Animal Crossing: New Leaf on her Nintendo 3DS every single day for the past four years. His grandmother's 3DS recently broke, and during the system transfer to her new system, Hubans discovered that his grandma had clocked just over 3,580 hours playing the game. In total, she has fired up the Animal Crossing game 2,521 times. After gamers responded with words of support of his gaming grandma, Hubans shared a lovely photo of his grandmother enjoying her replacement handheld.

The positivity didn't end there, however. Later, Hubans decided to plug his game (The Indie Game Legend 3D) on Steam, explaining that if the game sold enough copies he would buy his grandma a Nintendo Switch to be able to play the upcoming Animal Crossing game for Switch. Few details have been revealed thus far about the next Animal Crossing, but considering how much Hubans' grandma loves New Leaf, she would probably be a huge fan of the Switch AC title as well.

Shortly after Hubans promoted his game, he returned to Twitter to thank people for their generous donations. It seems that after seeing the heartwarming story of Hubans' Animal Crossing-loving grandma, many gamers had chipped in, donating to the game developer in order to make his goal of buying a Nintendo Switch happen. According to Hubans' tweet, Eric Monacelli (the director of production at Marvel Games) and popular cosplayer Lysande were two of the biggest donors.

In the replies, the positivity continues even more. Some Nintendo Switch fans have offered to design a pair of custom, Animal Crossing-themed Joy-Cons for Hubans grandma. Others have asked Hubans to share his grandmother's friend code in order for her new "fans" to be able to visit her town when the new game is released. Some are offering game recommendations like Stardew Valley, and plenty are calling Hubans the best grandchild ever for making this happen.
