Every week, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are visited by various NPCs that provide unique services. In the case of some NPCs, it's obvious to Animal Crossing: New Horizons players when they'll be there, but with others, it's a little more difficult to pin down. Now, thanks to information from the official Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide and some datamining efforts, fans of the game know exactly when to expect certain visitors on their island.
However, there are some things Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have to do first before certain NPCs will appear. Once they've unlocked the NPCs, their appearances on the island become more predictable, and players will be able to plan out their weeks a bit more accurately.
Here are all the possible Animal Crossing: New Horizons visitors that players can get on their islands and when they appear.
Celeste
Visiting Hours: 7pm - 5am (Monday - Sunday)
Celeste will appear on Animal Crossing: New Horizons players' islands after they've built the museum and assuming that a meteor shower is taking place that night. Celeste will explain how meteor showers work to players, allowing them to collect the rare star fragments that they need to use to craft wands and other special items in the game.
CJ
Visiting Hours: 5am - 5am (Monday - Friday)
To get CJ to visit their island, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players first need to upgrade the Resident Services building. Afterwards, they will occasionally find CJ wandering their island, willing to buy fish off them at a higher price than Nook's Cranny. CJ is also the host of the quarterly fishing tournaments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which players can compete in to win special prizes.
Daisy Mae
Visiting Hours: 5am - 12pm (Sunday)
Daisy Mae is the Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager that sells players turnips, allowing them to participate in the Stalk Market and become filthy rich in the process. Once players have built Nook's Cranny on the island, Daisy Mae will start spawning on Sunday mornings, wandering around aimlessly.
Flick
Visiting Hours: 5am - 5am (Monday - Friday)
As far as NPCs go, Flick is one of the most helpful. Whenever Flick visits an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player's island, he will purchase bugs from them at a higher price than they could get from Nook's Cranny. He will start appearing on the island after players upgrade the Resident Services building.
Gulliver
Visiting Hours: 5am - 5am (Monday - Friday)
After Tom Nook reveals that Blathers will be setting up a museum on the island, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will want to start checking their beaches. Occasionally, they will find Gulliver washed up on their shores. Gulliver will task Animal Crossing: New Horizons players with digging up the beach to find the components he needs to radio his crew for help, and will often send gifts to players for helping him out.
Leif
Visiting Hours: 5am - 10pm (Monday - Friday)
Leif is one of the newest Animal Crossing: New Horizons visitors. Added as part of the Nature Day event, Leif will appear in the plaza on one random day of the week.
Harvey
Visting Hours: 5am - 5am (Monday - Sunday)
Early on in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are asked by Tom Nook to build three new houses on the island so that more residents can move in. The day after they complete this task, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will have a chance to be visited by Harvey. Talking to him will unlock the ability to travel to his island to do photo shoots.
Kicks
Visiting Hours: 5am - 10pm (Monday - Friday)
When it comes to purchasing new shoes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players will want to hit up Kicks. Kicks appears in the plaza, but he won't start appearing until after players get the Able Sisters shop built.
K.K. Slider
Visiting Hours: All Day (Saturday)
The main goal in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to get the island in good enough shape that it convinces famed musician K.K. Slider to play a concert there. After K.K. performs his first concert and the credits roll, he will return to players' Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands every Saturday night to perform additional concerts. K.K. can be found in the plaza all day on Saturdays, but his concert won't start until 6pm.
Label
Visiting Hours: 5am - Midnight (Monday - Friday)
After players build the Able Sisters Shop in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Label will start appearing in the plaza. Label gives Animal Crossing: New Horizons players fashion challenges to complete, and rewards them for their efforts.
Mabel
Visiting Hours: 5am - 10pm (Monday - Sunday)
Some time after Animal Crossing: New Horizons players build Nook's Cranny, they will be visited by Mabel. After Mabel visits a few times and players spend at least 5,000 bells on her clothing items, she and her sister will build the Able Sisters Shop, at which point she will become a permanent resident.
Redd
Visiting Hours: ??? (Monday - Friday)
We have not been able to verify Redd's visiting hours at the time of this writing (it's likely 5am - 5am), but the art dealer will appear randomly Monday through Friday. Players need to speak with Redd in order to get the Art Gallery expansion for the museum, which makes him one of the more important visiting NPCs in the game.
Saharah
Visiting Hours: 5am - Midnight (Monday - Sunday)
Saharah will likely be one of the very first visitors that Animal Crossing: New Horizons players come across on their island. She sells carpet and wallpaper for players to decorate their house, and will only spawn once players have progressed far enough to actually get their first home.
Wisp
Visiting Hours: 8pm - 5am (Monday - Sunday)
Wisp is one of two visitors in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that appears exclusively at night. There are no prerequisites to unlocking Wisp, and players will potentiallyo find the friendly ghost patrolling their island any night of the week. Speaking to Wisp will let players complete a mini-game where they have to collect orbs with a net, and like all the other visitor quests, they will be rewarded for their efforts.
How Animal Crossing: New Horizons Visitors Work
Datamining efforts have revealed a bit more information on how Animal Crossing: New Horizons visitors work in the game. Apparently, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are guaranteed to be visited by Kicks, Leif, and Saharah on one of three weekdays (Monday - Friday). The other two days are reserved for CJ, Gulliver, Flick, Label, and Redd. So anyone wondering why Flick or Redd haven't shown up on their island for awhile, that's why.
In future, it's possible that Nintendo will change which visitors are guaranteed to appear on weekdays. For example, a future Animal Crossing: New Horizons update could make it so CJ, Gulliver, and Flick are guaranteed on weekdays instead. However, what makes this somewhat unlikely is that Kicks, Leif, and Saharah are three visitors that players actually purchase reliable goods from. It's true that players purchase art from Redd, but some of Redd's art is fake, and the other NPCs are there for players to complete little tasks.
Future updates may also introduce some new NPC visitors to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as well. We know that Nintendo is planning a wedding event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the month of June, but its plans for the game beyond that have yet to be revealed. Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans should be able to count on holiday-themed events come Halloween and Christmas, but other plans remain a mystery. More information should come to light in the months ahead.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
