Animal Crossing: New Horizons is full of adorable characters, with many gamers growing attached to specific Villagers that they meet while playing. Gyroids have also been a big hit with players, and recently one Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan had the brilliant idea to combine them.

Gyroids returned to the Animal Crossing series through New Horizons’ 2.0 update, which dropped alongside the Happy Home Paradise DLC. Living creatures that work as collectibles and are essentially pets for Villagers and the player character, each Gyroid has a different design and voice. Gyroids will sing and dance, too, and players will often create entire rooms to show off their complete Gyroid collections. If the Gyroids created by Instagram user donuteatdoodle were real, they would surely be must-have items for any collection.

The Instagram user's incredibly artwork features some of the most popular Villagers in Gyroid form. For instance, Roald the penguin has their derpy face translated to Gyroid form, and the essence of the character is completely maintained within the popular art piece. Raymond is also featured in this lineup, with the sought after Villager’s different eye colors showcase alongside his glasses. His two arms being positioned at different angles does a lot to make the Gyroid makeover work, with the colorful Stitches Gyroid striking a similar pose.

Other highlights include Marshal the Squirrel, whose rosy red cheeks are present even in his Gyroid form, and a perfect take on Molly the Duck. Flora is present as well, with the artist remembering to include the pink Flamingo’s long neck, and both Lily and Diana make the cut. The wooden Coco and food-like Zucker round out the Gyroid collection, and the artist deserves all the praise they are getting for their hard work. With 10 Villagers chosen for the piece, it can be assumed that this is the lineup donuteatdoodle has on their own Animal Crossing: New Horizons island.

With this post being so adorable, it is not surprising that it also took off on Reddit. StrawberryInu, the user that reposted the art, also made a fun suggestion for a potential mechanic in a future Animal Crossing game. Normally, players have a chance to get photos of their Villagers after they have reached the highest relationship level. However, if this fan got their wish, gamers would instead receive Gyroids that look like the Villagers once the max relationship level has been achieved.

While it would take plenty of work on Nintendo’s end to add this feature to the next Animal Crossing, as there are hundreds of Villagers who would need special Gyroids, many would surely love to hunt them down. Regardless, this art is terrific, as it provides a fresh take on characters fans have seen many times.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
