Animal Crossing: New Horizons has allowed fans all over the globe to stretch their creative muscles while awaiting the end of the coronavirus quarantine, and many players have taken this chance to reinvent favorite scenes from movies and shows. With the addition of Avatar: The Last Airbender to the Netflix library, some fans have begun to make their own version of iconic scenes. But one user has decided to recreate a meme, bringing laughter to all who watch it.

On May 29, user David Dino tweeted a video of their version of the battle on Mustafar between Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi. This Animal Crossing edition of the master vs. apprentice fight may be short, but it is well crafted and accurate to the scene from the film. Because of the recent surge of recreations, it was only a matter of time before players got the idea to recreate Revenge of the Sith, often referred to as one of the most meme worthy films of the Star Wars franchise.

The clip shows the classic Mustafarian background of magma and scattered rocks, with Anakin on one side and Obi Wan on his infamous high ground. Although the lightsabers are lacking in the Animal Crossing universe, David Dino makes up for it with the emphasized facial expressions and body language during the clip. Upon first viewing of the content, it feels clearly reminiscent of the classic scene, but with a gentle twist because of the animation style presented. The renewed scene shows that the violent parts of Revenge of the Sith are not the only gems offered throughout the film.

At the end of the clip, Anakin is seen flipping through the air towards Obi Wan as in the movie, but what comes next is unexpected. Because Animal Crossing has a such rigid animation style, Anakin's body retains its shape as its clunky edits cause him to rotate through the air, and Obi Wan shakes his lightsaber to defeat him. Although it may seem like a bad quality adaptation, the Animal Crossing twist that David Dino has put on this scene makes the meme much more enjoyable and revives the meme in the modern day. Animal Crossing is constantly getting new updates and attracting new players to its creative universe, so be on the lookout for more reimagining scenes like this one as the quarantine continues. Many players have already beaten the game, but enjoy the gameplay so much that they are always looking for the next bug to catch, or in this case, a new way to utilize and revel in the capabilities of their favorite game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available for Nintendo Switch.
