Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a source of entertainment for many players over recent months. This appears to be for good reason as New Horizons has not only achieved critical acclaim but has also been able to create a thriving community that provides extra engagement. As a result of a huge community, there are often impressive posts of what players have done to the islands. A recent effort to recreate the world of SpongeBob SquarePants isn't incredibly accurate or as painstakingly detailed as other achievements but it is hilarious.

The fact that New Horizons enables players to build an idyllic world for prospective islanders, and themselves, through social tasks, has allowed a lot of fans to create unique content. This kind of content has ranged from Power Rangers costumes to the mirroring of existing franchise worlds. While there have been many interesting Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan creations very few have managed to be as funny and weirdly fitting as a post by Reddit user zamueeel.

The post shows a pineapple, a rock, and a Moai house. Naturally, these three items put together will cause fans of SpongeBob SquarePants to have a flashback to the animated series. In fact, some commenters on the post claimed they could hear the music from the show just by looking at the post. However the post itself is not the most detailed, and the original poster did use the caption "Well, uh... I tried." Despite, the fact that the photo does not completely recreate the homes of SpongeBob SquarePants, many have found it humorous for its simple way of paying tribute to the show rather than the more detailed approach that many take in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

There is plenty to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and some of the responses to this funny recreation have suggested how it could be improved to make it appear more accurate when compared to its inspiration. However, others will argue that its simplicity is what makes this image so funny and what gives it a wide appeal to the Animal Crossing and SpongeBob SquarePants fan bases.

There will undoubtedly be more content to come out of Animal Crossing: New Horizons as fans make use of content updates. On top of that, the community around the game seems to be staying strong and this will likely encourage more contributions from fans. However, recreating the hilarious simplicity of this effort may take some thought.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
