Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have spent three months hunting down beetles, but the end of August means it's time for change. September will introduce a new selection of bugs for adventurous islanders to capture, study, and even sell.
With September just about to kick off , AC: New Horizons players should prepare to send off the summer collection of beetles, and welcome some new flying friends, primarily. Namely, Northern Hemisphere players can look out for the regal Monarch Butterfly and Red Dragonfly, while Southern islanders can look forward to the return of elusive favorites like the Orchid Mantis.
Save for a few overlaps, Northern and Southern Hemisphere players will each be encountering a unique, though limited, new set of bugs. These changes are arguably less exciting than the new September fish and sea creatures, but nonetheless, see below for a breakdown of the incoming critters:

Nothing too spectacular, but thankfully treasures like the terrifying scorpion are still up for grabs. Besides, there are plenty of other ways to generate bells in AC: New Horizons.

While the violin beetle will still technically be available in Northern Hemispheres, the same can't be said for the rest of the extensive list of summer beetles. Players looking for a complete museum, and/or models of all the bugs and fish, will have to wait until next summer or time travel to score another shot at a Horned Dynastid or Goliath Beetle.
Northern Hemisphere players unfortunately aren't getting too many great bugs to sell this month, but those in the South can prep their nets for the Orchid Mantis, Peacock Butterfly, and Man-Faced Stink Bug, all of which are rather common as long as there are flowers around. Whether Flick's around to give that selling bonus or not, a handful of Orchid Mantises will rack up a pretty penny (or, a beautiful bell?)
