With a cast of over 400 unique characters, Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers players a truly staggering number of unique and interesting characters to interact with when designing and terraforming their islands.
Among this expansive list of characters are a number of seasonal characters, who visit a player's island during certain times of the year, and often give players unique items to match. While seen less frequently than their normal villager counterparts, these seasonal villagers are nonetheless near and dear to the hearts of fans, who clamor to learn more about their favorite seasonal villagers.

9 Cyrus
Birthday: January 26th
Age: 24
Event: Wedding Season (June 1st - 30th)
While originally a fixture in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Cyrus has stepped away from his furniture customization business (for the time being) to focus more on spending time with his wife, Reese. In New Horizons, he and Reese ring in the in-game Wedding Season (June 1st - 30th), offering the player unique furniture and clothing items (such as a full-size wedding cake or church organ) in exchange for taking wedding photos at Harv's Island.
8 Franklin
Birthday: October 10th
Age: 24
Event: Turkey Day (November 25th)
An absolute fixture in the Animal Crossing series, Franklin has been in almost every Animal Crossing title in the last 20 years (with the exception of Doubutsu no Mori and Wild World), ringing in the annual Turkey Day Celebrations. In that time, Franklin has come a long way, originally being slated to be the Turkey Day Dinner back in Animal Crossing. However, Franklin's role in New Horizons consists largely of giving the player seasonal food items, as well as furniture in fitting fall colors.
7 Jack
Birthday: October 31st
Age: 32?
Event: Halloween (October 31st)
Not much is known about the mysterious Czar of Halloween. Other than his iconic pumpkin head and purple shawl combo, Nintendo offers players very little information when it comes to any kind of backstory or insight into his identity.
What is known about him, however, is his absolute love of all things Halloween, and his very literal understanding of "trick or treat," giving players a spooky surprise if he doesn't receive candy from them.
6 Jingle
Birthday: December 24th
Age: 22
Event: Toy Day (December 24th)
Perhaps the most joyous of the seasonal characters in New Horizons, Jingle's arrival on a player's island indicates the start of Toy Day, a single-day event that is the only way to acquire items in the Jingle Series.
In order to obtain these gifts, players will have to deliver toys to all the villagers on behalf of the jolly reindeer. Extra lines of unique dialogue can also be heard if players dress for the occasion by donning a Santa Coat, Hat, Beard, and Pants.
5 Pavé
Birthday: March 3rd
Age: 21
Event: Festivale (February 15th)
Easily one of the most energetic seasonal villagers, Pavé's arrival on a player's island is a time of song, dance, and celebration. When interacting with the host of Festivale, he'll often request specific feathers of various colors, which players must gather around their island. When these have been given to Pavé, he'll exchange them for Festivale themed items, and perhaps greet the player with a spectacular dance.
4 Reese
Birthday: July 5th
Age: 21
Event: Wedding Season (June 1st - 30th)
Much like her husband Cyrus, Reese has stepped away from her day job at Re-Tail to spend more time with her husband, and take a few seasonal wedding photos along the way. Using Harv's Island as the setting, players can arrange furniture, decorations, and even other villagers to set the scene for a truly wonderful wedding. Additionally, Reese will give the player special heart crystals for their work, which can be given to Cyrus in exchange for seasonal furniture and clothing items.
3 Rover
Birthday: February 1st
Age: 24
Event: May Day (May 1st - 7th)
Throughout most of the main-series games, Rover has been the first character players interact with when starting up their games for the first time. He'll usually guide players through the character creation process, and ask general questions about the player. In New Horizons, however, Rover serves as the harbinger of May Day (May 1st - 7th), where players must navigate a maze by Rover to obtain a special unique item.
2 Snowboy
Birthday: Anytime during Winter (December 11 - February 25)
Age: 22
Event: Winter (November 26th - February 24th)
As a seasonal character, Snowboy has the distinction of being in every single Animal Crossing title, from the Japan-exclusive Doubutsu no Mori all the way through New Horizons. The ability to craft Snowboy from two large lumps of snow heralds the arrival of winter on the island (November 26th - February 24th), as well as offering players the chance to obtain furniture from the new "Frozen Series."
1 Zipper T. Bunny
Birthday: March 11th
Age: 22
Event: Bunny Day (March 22nd - April 25th)
First appearing in Animal Crossing: City Folk, Zipper T. Bunny serves as the host of Bunny Day (March 28 - April 4, 2021), an annual event featuring egg hunts, chocolate, and unique crafting recipes to ring in the new season. Zipper is something of an enigma in the Animal Crossing community, as numerous fan theories assume he's likely not who he seems to be on the surface.
