Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be a ton of fun. Players given the freedom to customize their home and island, meet new friends, collect new and exciting things, and experience the joy of learning how to pay off their debts. However, during exploration, players may come across one of the few things in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that can ruin their day: wasps.

Like their real life counterparts, Animal Crossing: New Horizon's wasp nests can be found in various trees around the island. If a player happens to disturb their nests by shaking the tree and destroying it, wasps will chase them for around. If stung, players are hurt and if stung again soon after, players get knocked out. To help combat this problem, a Reddit user named razorwireshine came up with a solution for Animal Crossing players to use.

Using the party popper item, razorwireshine is able to quickly deal with the swarming insects that pop out of their nests to attack. Acting almost like a shotgun, the party popper instantly scatters the nearby wasps and causes them to fly away. They repeat the process on another tree, and again the wasps instantly fly away after the party popper is used.

The use of the party popper as a weapon of sorts is reminiscent of Isabelle in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Isabelle has an attack in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate where she pulls out the party popper and uses it on an opponent. The attack is fairly strong, and can be used as a finishing blow on most high percentage opponents.

A few people in the comments of the Reddit post said that it's probably easier just to catch the wasps, as they're worth a decent number of Bells when sold in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Some players even expressed surprise when catching the wasps was mentioned. After all, most people's reactions to wasps or anything chasing them is to run away. Still, razorwireshine likely presented the party popper as an option for those who were looking for a solution other than running away.

If players aren't looking to add wasps to their collection or looking to sell them for Bells, the party popper looks like a great way to scatter wasps in an instant. Players should be much safer exploring their islands now with this information.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
