Animal Crossing: New Horizons has topped sales charts around the entire world since its initial release, and as August ends, New Horizons continues to dominate. Once again, the game has found a way to reach the very top of the UK sales charts for the month of August.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons remains in first place for the second week in a row, an impressive feat given the fact that the game has already been out for months. The game’s positive word of mouth has certainly helped it sell so well, as has the community’s ability to breathe new life into the game with each passing day. Players have even been able to make entire games in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for everyone to play, showing just how deep this game in the series is.

Animal Crossing was not met with much fresh competition, as only one new game made its way onto the top 10 UK sales chart for this month: the much-maligned Madden NFL 21. Other notable games include Grand Theft Auto 5, which never seems to leave the top 10, and Ghost of Tsushima. Four other Switch titles make an appearance on the list, including Minecraft Switch Edition and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Animal Crossing dominating sales charts is nothing new, as New Horizons placed first on Japanese sales charts earlier this month. The game can always be found neat or at the very top of sales lists for just about every country, as its popularity truly knows no bounds. Everyone seems to love Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as the game has something for every type of gamer to find enjoyment in.

New Horizons shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, either. Players are still working on their islands, building games to play with friends, and becoming as close as they possibly can to their dream villagers. Fan-made trading websites like Nookazon allow players to hunt for whatever items they want within the game, making new friends in the process and adding to the game’s feeling of community. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is even receiving real-life IKEA furniture, showing just how much of a phenomenon the game has become.

With other games even showing love for Animal Crossing, such as Blair Witch’s creator adding a New Horizons hoodie code into the newest trailer for the horror game, it is hard to imagine a world where the game doesn’t top sales charts yet again next month.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
