While players can use design IDs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to share their custom designs, the game also supports QR code scanning. This means that players can use the QR codes that were created for Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Happy Home Designer to bring a slew of fan-made designs to their islands. Indeed, these QR codes can be found scattered across the internet, but one fan has taken the time to collect a tremendous number of them in a single video.

As seen below, this Animal Crossing: New Horizons QR codes video features hundreds of custom designs from comic books, movies, video games, and beyond. For players that are interested in perusing all of these ACNH QR codes, it is advisable to set the playback speed to 0.25, as the custom designs go by quite quickly at full speed. Furthermore, the video's creator has included timestamps in the comments below the video, which will help fans jump directly to designs of interest

With respect to how to use these QR codes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the process begins with downloading the Nintendo Switch Online app on an Android or iOS device and logging in. From there, a player should navigate to ACNH's main menu on their Switch, and then press the "-" button to access settings. They should then speak with Tom Nook about setting up NookLink, and then restart the app on their mobile device.

At this point, it is possible to scan QR codes into Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and that is done by selecting the game under "Game-Specific Services" in the Nintendo Switch Online app and then selecting Designs. Players are now free to scan QR codes from the video found above by pausing it at the desired timestamp, and they should choose to save the design from their mobile device after it has been scanned.

Now the player can return to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on their Switch and select Custom Designs from the NookPhone. They can then press the "+"  button to download the design that they have scanned, and they should then save it to an unfilled spot under the Pro Designs tab. While this process is perhaps not as simple as using the aforementioned ACNH design IDs, it does mean that players have an alternative option for importing custom designs.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for Nintendo Switch.
