A number of impressive games dropped this week, including what is looking to become the Nintendo Switch's biggest 2020 release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While players have been quick to delve into every aspect of the latest Animal Crossing title, it's one specific feature that seems to be trending, especially when it is used to recreate characters from another popular Nintendo franchise.

The feature in question is the Custom Designs feature that players unlock as soon as they get their smartphone right at the beginning of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Many players have quickly taken to making designs from all of their favorite references, as well as some original designs, but a number of select players have been painstakingly recreating their favorite Pokemon to cross Animal Crossing with Pokemon and placing it all over their personal islands.

Designs range from simple sprites, to full on recreations of fan favorite characters like Ash Ketchum or even the playable characters from some of the most popular entries in the Pokemon series. Many players have been quick to share these creations over Twitter, as well as sharing their designs with their friends by visiting each other's island paradises and through Animal Crossing: New Horizons' mail system, to properly show off their work. Some of the standouts have also found themselves trending through a hashtag that has been building steam since the game released, #AnimalCrossingDesigns.

Hopefully, since these are Nintendo properties being recreated through a Nintendo owned game, the Pokemon designs won't be taken down like Mario's removal from PS4's Dreams. Although, there are clearly designs that go outside of the realm of Nintendo, crossing Animal Crossing: New Horizons with tons of other games and pop culture references. However, the Pokemon love, along with original creations, seems to be the most popular series being represented among players, as well as a notable shout-out to another one of the most popular titles to hit the Nintendo Switch.

For anyone looking for more of these incredible player creations and outfits, the previously mentioned #AnimalCrossingDesigns has already amassed a huge collection of creations on Twitter, Instagram, or whatever anyone's favorite image hosting sight might be. This can give players something to look through while they wait for their Nook Stop items to be delivered, even if they find a way to speed that time up. Fans who haven't quite taken the dive into Animal Crossing: New Horizons can also get a peek at what their missing through some of the impressive creations players have been sharing.
