Alongside more interactive villagers, one of the biggest requests from Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans is the ability to sit in pools and tubs. Now, they can finally do so, as a new glitch in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is making the interiors of the items accessible.

Since launch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans have been hoping that an update would make the game’s water-based furniture accessible. Unfortunately, it is just for show, as players cannot get inside pools, baths, or hot tubs. Interacting with the items just sees their villager grabbing them or turning them on and off. With island residents also unable to go for a relaxing swim, the lack of interactivity has annoyed some players. As such, this newfound pool glitch may be worth trying out.

Instagram user kohaku_crossing has given fans an example of how to pull the trick off, citing the YouTuber Jasper as the person that first discovered it. In the tutorial, the player confirms that players might need to do a bit of terraforming on their islands. The goal should be to create a rounded corner on a ledge of some kind, as players need to use the ladder to climb up this ledge. If a path cannot be set down on this corner, gamers know that they have done the setup for the trick correctly.

From there, kohaku_crossing explains that players will need to put a flat item of some kind on top of the hill. In the footage, the Instagram user pulls off the trick with a puzzle, though there are several items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that should do the trick. Once it’s placed, they then need to push it as close to the rounded corner as possible. From there, players can climb back down the cliffside, positioning their ladders just below the flat item. When they climb up the ladder, they can take a few steps forward to enter the hot tub, bath, or pool.

While kohaku_crossing shows off a Cypress Bathtub, the image shared by Redditor Pigment_b confirms that the trick also works fine inside pools. Any item with water in it should now be accessible, and as highlighted in the clip, players can do any of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ reactions inside the pool. This means that they can sit, dance, and emote as normal. Further, if the pool is big enough, two players can get inside it together. However, the glitch will need to be set up before a friend visits, as the island cannot be edited while someone is over.

With the water effect looking believable, players should be able to take some great photos using the glitch. While it is not yet possible to get Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ villagers into pools, hopefully a trick is found for this soon.
