Animal Crossing: New Horizons has finally arrived. The relaxing social simulation and collection game may be the perfect title during what has become a tumultuous time across the globe. And although Amazon has delayed the release of the title for those who pre-ordered, fans are happy to finally be getting the town-building island-getaway game into their own hands.
Instead of jumping into the fray and exploring the brand new island first thing, however, many players are resetting the game multiple times in an attempt to get their desired experience. Specifically, they are resetting their island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons if they don't get their favorite fruit.
Each island in Animal Crossing has a native fruit, which can be Cherries, Pears, Apples, Peaches, and Oranges. However, there can only be one native fruit, and for various reasons, fans of the game are hellbent on having a specific fruit as their native produce. Fans on social media have been sharing stories of resetting their game up to a dozen times. Others have bragged about getting exactly what they wanted on their first attempt. Gaming the system has always been a part of the Animal Crossing series, and players have already found out how to time travel in New Horizons to reduce waiting times and to earn more bells.
The native fruit is not just something for looks, but also for selling and for making bells. Veterans of the game like to find any advantage possible to get rich fast within Animal Crossing. On top of resetting the game for fruit purposes, fans are also starting over in hopes to get the perfect starting villagers. So for some, if they are wanting their favorite villagers to appear from the start, the rare peach, and even other possibilities, they are starting over the game countless times until their island-getaway is perfect.
Thankfully, when it comes to the villagers within the game, they will all eventually be able to show up with different progression and by building the community. For example, a classic fan-favorite villager who is usually in the game at the start, Blathers, must be invited to the island through a series of challenges.
Many new Animal Crossing players might be well on their way to exploring their own private island, building up their house, and inviting oodles of villagers into their community. They may even be doing so through the multiplayer within Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Others are still resetting the game hoping to get an apple as their native fruit. The good news is that New Horizons can be played in a multitude of ways, and can be enjoyed however anyone pleases--and being happy right now with a game that is designed to put smiles on faces is a-okay.
