Animal Crossing: New Horizons, by nature, is a pretty peaceful game to play. However, just like real life, sometimes frustration and conflict can arise between people, and it isn't always a welcome sight for players.
One recent instance saw two Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers squabbling among each other. When spotted by the player's character, they decided they'd had enough, and chose to 'punish' the animals.
As shared by ArtemisVG, a brief video is seen revealing that Diana, the snooty white deer, and Toby, the smug rabbit, are having some kind of disagreement with each other right next to a tree. Saying they were going to 'learn a lesson,' ArtemisVG stands on the other side of the tree and starts hitting it with an axe. Suddenly, a beehive falls out of the tree, alarming both Diana and Toby as the bees start to swarm over their heads. ArtemisVG isn't done, though, continuing to whack the tree until it falls down over them.
Arguments between animal villagers can usually be resolved peacefully, either by letting the fight burn out on its own or by intervening directly. Of course, after seeing one too many fights among villagers, it's possible for players to simply become irritated by it. ArtemisVG notes in the comments that, of course, the bees actually turned on them and attacked them after the video ends, but with the way that it's cut, it makes it seem as though punishment in the form of New Horizons' angry wasps came down on the two villagers who couldn't get along.
The comments seem to primarily be amused by the scene, sharing moments of irritation at similar events transpiring on their own islands. While Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a peaceful game, there are plenty of times that players vent their frustration in it, by doing things like planting pitfalls or purposefully harassing villagers that they don't want in their island paradise. These antics don't actually accomplish anything other than relieving some stress on the part of the player and annoying the animal villagers, as there's no direct way to make a villager leave a town. But of course, that doesn't stop players from trying.
Thankfully, it seems that most players end up charmed by their animal villagers rather than annoyed by them. Numerous fanart and craft projects have been created celebrating villagers like Raymond and Isabelle. The appreciation for the series doesn't end there, with real-life takes on the froggy chair and DIY bottles even being carefully created by fans. But at times like these, sometimes players will let out their frustrations, even if it happens to be directed at their favorites.
