The ingenuity of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community seems to know no bounds, as one fan shares that their own playable character has been turned into an amazing amiibo card. Created using the likeness of the player's Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager in place of the game's typical animal villagers found on the amiibo cards, the custom item is actually scannable and usable in the life sim.

For those who are not familiar with the use of amiibo in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, these items are used to invite specific villagers into the life sim. ACNH amiibo figures and cards are usually in high demand as players can actually invite these villagers to stay on their island as a resident after completing a series of requests over a period of time. However, there are no official cards of actual player villagers out for sale, so seeing one being made by a fellow fan is likely to pique the interest of the whole Animal Crossing: New Horizons community.

On Reddit, user Russxp06 shared a photo of the custom amiibo card a "content creator" friend had made for them. The card showcases what the Redditor's in-game character looks like, even following the standard format and information found on an Animal Crossing: New Horizons amiibo card. According to Russxp06, the card can actually be used in the life sim. Scanning the custom amiibo card will invite one of the cat villagers, Bob, into the player's Animal Crossing: New Horizons camp site.

Many replies on the Reddit thread were in awe of the custom amiibo card. Fellow fans likely wanted to have one made for their own Animal Crossing: New Horizons villager but the Redditor did not disclose the details of the friend that made the card for them. However, they did say that they were able to find similar items being sold on Etsy shops. So interested fans can try their luck on that platform instead. Other comments on the thread simply enjoyed the custom item, stating how cool-looking the card was.

Though other replies shared that it was easy for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to make their own amiibo cards, fans should proceed with caution as the process is unofficial and can be considered illegal. Hopefully Nintendo is able to pick up on the community's interest in custom ACNH amiibo cards. If and when it becomes available, it is probably a service that many fans will patronize in the future.
