It seems the success of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is limitless. The extremely popular Nintendo title has sold in record numbers and was awarded Best Family Game of the year at the 2021 Dice Awards. The passion fans have for the game is still at an incredible high as well, with one fan turning that passion into an in-game, pirate themed mini-golf course.

Creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have been building unique things in the game since its release; that's largely the point of the charming open-ended title, after all. From custom tunics straight out of The Legend of Zelda to enormous castles, it seemed fans had created everything possible in the game.

Reddit user MeganHarperART, however, took things in a decidedly more pirate themed approach with their mini-golf course, proving there is still much to be mined from the game with the right level of creativity. Complete with treasure, traps, and even a skull for good measure, the course looks like it would be a lot of fun to traverse with a putter in hand. Some of the new sea creatures coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the May update would look right at home on the course, too, so MeganHarperART might just be back with an even cooler take on their golf island in the future.

As it is, the course is already dotted with custom designed skull and crossbones flags, a canon, and ships in a bottle humorously placed on the water. Animal Crossing: New Horizons still tops best seller charts regularly, and with creative fans like MeganHarperART, it's easy to see why the game continues to capture the imagination of its audience as well.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Switch.
