Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are always coming up with clever concepts for decorations, and the 2.0 update has given creators several new items to work with. Using a few of these new items, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has completely transformed their home into a mansion.

While Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans can expand the inside of their homes to feature several rooms, the houses themselves will always look a bit small regardless of how expansive they get. The exteriors only get a bit bigger once players expand on their houses, leaving many wanting more from their expensive homes. As such, YouTuber Crizzy Crossings has made an effort to turn player homes into mansions, completely redecorating the outside of the housing areas so that they look far fancier. Thankfully, players of all skill levels should be able to copy the content creator’s design, as it is straightforward and does not require much space.

As said by Crizzy Crossings at the start of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons video, players only need 4x4 spaces on the side of their houses and a 12x6 base in front of the home. From there, they can begin working on the pathing and decorating. The paths used include some custom brick and stone options, while a grassy lawn makes up a majority of the area (creator codes can be found in the video’s description). All the pathing is expertly placed, with Crizzy Crossing’s yard looking terrific once the groundwork has been done. With no terraforming needed, this process looks simple.

Players will also want a few items from Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ 2.0 update, those being the Castle Tower and the Medieval Building sides. These are used to extend the house and make it look like an actual mansion, with the Towers going in the back and the Building sides being placed down in front of them. Together, these props make it look like the player house is significantly larger than normal, allowing players to flex their impressive Bell count.

From there, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons creation really begins to come together. Alongside a mix of Simple and Lattice fencing, details like streetlamps, benches, and fountains improve the area around the player’s mansion. Smart usage of plants leads to the area look significantly fancier, with everything from planters and Simple Panels to a Mushroom Wreath on the door working in tandem to make a beautiful house exterior. The video ends with Crizzy Crossings sharing some gorgeous shots of their mansion.

With another player recently expanding their Animal Crossing: New Horizons home with a balcony, many seem to have an interest in flashier house designs. For those that enjoyed the video, it could be worth following the tutorial to recreate the mansion.
