The newest update adding tons of new summer-themed content is now available for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players, and here's what they can expect from the full patch notes with July 30, 2020 update release.

At the beginning of July, Nintendo released a massive patch that added a bunch of new activities to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From swimming and diving to NPCs Pirate Gulliver and Pascal, there was no shortage of fun for players who were spending upwards of ten hours a day addicted to the newest installment of a long-beloved series. While the Wave 1 update focused on daytime activities, the Summer Update Wave 2 adds many evening events for players, as well as a few unexpected patches and several online connectivity features.

The main pieces of the update to the game folks are excited for are the addition of fireworks that fans can watch each Sunday in August from 7PM until midnight, as well as the addition of the NPC Luna. Similar to the swimming ability Both features are reprisals from past titles that fans loved. Regarding fireworks shows, players have the opportunity to design their own to be displayed, and may even receive requests from their villagers. With Luna, she'll aid players in visiting other islands via the Dream Island Tours.

Additionally, a coveted camera trick has been patched back into the game, but this time, as a feature. Previously, Animal Crossing patched out a useful camera glitch that was essential for players who spent their days taking pictures and recreating The Office scenes on their islands by eliminating the HUD. Players weren't happy when Ver. 1.3.0 took away the ability to do this, but the same content creators will be excited to find that it's been added back in as a supported feature. When in the NookPhone Camera app, press the R stick to turn off the guide information. A ton of networking features have also been added.
