Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are a creative bunch, as those still actively playing the game have managed to keep themselves entertained for nearly a year now. One Animal Crossing: New Horizons player had a totally unique creative spark, however, as they decided to rebuild their island as an IKEA store.

Likely spurred on by the news regarding IKEA’s 2021 Animal Crossing catalog, which sees the company’s furniture lineup recreated in the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Redditor skidmore101 got to work on their massive IKEA store. With the player’s museum, shops, and a lineup of penguin villagers kept at the bottom of the map so the aesthetic is not ruined, skidmore101 clearly put a lot of effort into her store’s design.

In the comments, skidmore101 shares that “the frustration is real” with her island, as moving between her house and anywhere else is a pain. A look at the map makes this clear, as there is a clear path through the island that must be followed closely. From the second players leave the DODO airport, they are thrust into the creator’s version of IKEA. With areas for workplaces, kitchens, living rooms, and everything in between, the creative island design stands out. With a proper checkout line even included in the build, the eye for detail is spectacular.

Alongside the impressive map showing off the locations, skidmore101 showcases several photos of the store in action. Starting off in a parking lot with an IKEA logo imprinted on the floor, players can visit areas full of kitchen items, tables, and couches. A storage area can also be seen, with the location covered in Nook Inc. boxes some decorated walls. One standout area of this wildly unique island design is the Dining Room, as the location has cake stands with actual prices listed above them.

One comment on the post comes from Redditor EL3MENTALIST, a fellow IKEA coworker that “loves” the design. In response, skidmore101 offers creator codes for special Animal Crossing: New Horizons outfits based on IKEA workers’ uniforms. Clearly, this IKEA island’s creator is a big fan of the furniture company, and her love for the store has translated well in her heavily inspired island design. If anyone wants to shop for textiles and tableware, skidmore101’s island seems like the place to be, and the island's Dream Address is 4337-1346-9533.

While there have been some truly mind-blowing Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands designed by players, this IKEA island ranks among the best due to the level of care shown by the creator. While an island being dedicated to a furniture shop may seem like an odd concept, the level of dedication behind the decoration can be appreciated by anyone.
