Since its release a week and a half ago, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players around the world have been hard at work building their own personal islands. But after getting through New Horizon's first in-game week, players will realize that there's even more to be done to attract villagers. Continuing to develop their community will eventually net players the Island Designer app which includes an option called terraforming.

The ability to terraform allows even more customization options in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as players can swap terrain between grass, dirt, and other options available from the store. Although this can be used for simple changes or adjustments, there are some fans who are showcasing the extent of this feature's creative potential.

On the Animal Crossing subreddit, user VaynMaanen posted about successfully creating a replica of Hyrule found in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past after 4 days of hard work. VaynMaanen's island is to scale with the actual map and even important places like Blather's museum have been placed appropriately in several provided screenshots. However, this isn't even the final form as they mention some last touches are needed to completely finish the project.

Players with their own terraforming stories will recognize the amount of time, effort, and dedication that went into an island like this. At the same time, it could give fans with a creative block the needed inspiration to break through on their own projects.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch.
