The return of the Gyroids in Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizon is likely one of features that many long-time fans were anticipating about the game's free 2.0 update. Iconic figures in older Animal Crossing titles, it seemed like it was only a matter of time until the devs made the high-definition version of the little creatures. Now, fans look like they are thoroughly enjoying each new Gyroid they discover, and have even started making real-life versions of them. Recently, a fan shared that they received a gift from a fellow Animal Crossing fan which were a handful of handmade Gyroid figures.

Though Animal Crossing has had Gyroids since its Nintendo 64 days, players who only started the series with ACNH are likely wondering about the form and function of these creatures. Historically, they served different functions such as being the game's save point, a mailbox of some sort, or a donation box to fund a town project. However, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they mainly serve as collectibles that players can trade with others in the community. Even so, the new Gyroids are quite adorable, which makes it easy to understand why fans seem to love making content about them.

On Reddit, user shockrush shared a heartwarming story about how they made a friend on Animal Crossing some time ago. Said friend recently sent them a gift of Gyroid figures, and they look lovingly handmade. Fans will likely recognize most of them, especially since one of them is the Brewstoid, a special gift that players can receive from The Roost's resident barista Brewster. The other Gyroids in the collection are the Aluminoid, Oinkoid, Bubbloid, Petaloid, and Wallpoid, all of which can be found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

According to shockrush, their friend 3d-printed the figures and hand-painted them to look as accurate as they could. Many of the commenters on the thread thought that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Gyroid figures looked cute and amazing. Others wanted to know if the Redditor's friend had a shop, as they likely wanted to get some figures for themselves. Unfortunately, shockrush's friend does not seem to be selling their creations, though the Redditor mentioned that they wanted them to open up an online store.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons community seems to be one of the best places to find cute and wholesome content such as this. With players constantly helping each other out, and encouraging each other to be inspired and creative, it is likely the fanbase will keep active years after Nintendo stops producing updates for the title.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
