Animal Crossing: New Horizons just received a massive update, and with it comes tons of changes and October-themed goodies. The update for New Horizons also comes with the ability to receive an interesting crossover item from another Nintendo game; a Ring Con from Ring Fit Adventure.
Animal Crossing: New Horizon's spooky Fall and Halloween-themed update comes with pumpkins, new DIYs, and special features and events. The game looks adorable in the month of October, with the wintery-themed update in the Animal Crossing world being its other iconic time of the year. But along with pumpkins and creepy outfits, players can now receive a Ring Con from Ring Fit Adventure, just in time for the one-year anniversary of the game, as it launched on October 18, 2019.
How to Unlock the Ring Con in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
To receive the Ring Con, players must first download the Fall and Haloween update for New Horizons, which comes with spooky furniture and customizable pumpkins. The update is required for anyone who is interested in participating in events, such as the one that will take place on October 31, for Halloween. Players will need to be hooked up to the internet via an ethernet cable or Wi-Fi to perform the update.
Once the update is complete, players will need to go to their mailbox in New Horizons to find a special gift. The Ring Con is a present from Nintendo, just in time for exercise before the candy binge of Halloween, so it doesn't take any outrageous steps to unlock.
Ring Fit Adventure is an exercise action role-playing game developed by Nintendo. Players perform walking, yoga, and cardio moves, with the help of the Ring Con, to progress through the game and take down enemies. Ring Fit Adventure has sold relatively well since it launched, and is often sold out at retailers thanks to it coming with the Ring Con hardware. Recently Ring Fit Adventure outsold Marvel's Avengers in the UK.
Nintendo has long had a history of promoting exercise, with Wii Fit being a prime example of a game developed by the Nintendo that found success among a wide audience. Ring Fit Adventure is not the only Nintendo created exercise game on the Switch, as Jump Rope Challenge is staying in the shop indefinitely as a free downloadable piece of software that has players jumping up and down with a friendly rabbit as an assistant.
