The protests aren't focused solely on Macron's decision to raise France's retirement age, but also on his executive right to issue decrees without a vote. Macron has dismissed criticism and is refusing to backtrack, calling the decree a "necessity."While so many in France have taken to the streets to show their anger at Macron's decision and parliament's inability to act since, those unable to physically join the protests are finding alternatives. Reddit user Majhinell recently made a post on the Animal Crossing France subreddit showing their in-game Animal Crossing: New Horizons protest. Their post encourages other players to gather in protest in front of Tom Nook's shop.
The custom Animal Crossing: New Horizons creation features 8 players wearing protective gear including bright red vests and La CGT hats for the General Confederation of Labour trade union. The 8 have taken to the street and are shouting protest slogans, including, "Support the strikers!" "WE ARE HERE!" and more. The group is shouting and angry, and there are even campfires on the ground representing the growing anger and violence of the protests.
