Animal Crossing: New Horizons is shaping up to have a tons of activities to do throughout the fall season. Though New Horizons just finished its Halloween event, there is still plenty for players to do as fall gets into full swing.

As with every new month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the local wildlife that players collect and catalog has changed once again. Though there isn’t an overabundance of new fish for players to catch in the Northern Hemisphere, New Horizons players in the Southern Hemisphere have a handful to look out for.

New Fish: Northern Hemisphere

Northern Hemisphere players in New Horizons don’t have too many new fish to catch in November, as is tradition in Animal Crossing. As the winter months approach in Animal Crossing, the new rare fish get fewer and fewer. Some of these fish have even been available in earlier months for those who played the game close to release day. Still, for those new Northern Hemisphere players, these five fish shouldn’t be too difficult to come by. The new fish for November in the Northern Hemisphere are as follows:

Species | Time | Location | Size of Shadow | Sell Price (Bells)

Bitterling | All Day | River | Tiny | 900

Blowfish | 9pm – 4am | Sea | Medium | 5,000

Tuna | All Day | Pier | Largest | 7,000

Blue Marlin | All Day | Pier | Largest | 10,000

Football Fish | 4pm – 9am | Sea | Large | 2,500

In between crafting the new mushroom DIY recipes that can be found throughout November, players should try and catch every one of those new fish if they haven’t already. The fish that may end up giving players the most trouble are the pier fish. Large pier fish tend to be extremely rare. Additionally, since the pier is such a specific spawn location it’s going to take a while for players to catch the Tuna and the Blue Marlin.

New Fish: Southern Hemisphere

Even though Southern Hemisphere players aren’t exactly picking mushrooms in New Horizons like those in the Northern Hemisphere, they have more new fish arriving in November. Since it’s essentially Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, the water is much warmer and more new fish are available to catch. Many of these new fish are going to be found in ponds and rivers, with no new fish spawning in the ocean. The new fish for November in the Southern Hemisphere are as follows:

Frog | All Day | Pond | Small | 120

Catfish | 4pm – 9am | Pond | Large | 800

Nibble Fish | 9am – 4pm | River | Tiny | 1,500

Angel Fish | 4pm – 9am | River | Small | 3,000

Betta | 9am – 4pm | River | Small | 2,500

Rainbow Fish | 9am – 4pm | River | Tiny | 800

Giant Trevally | All Day | Pier | Extra Large | 4,500

Mahi-Mahi | All Day | Pier | Extra Large | 6,000

Again, it’s important to note that there are two additional pier fish arriving for Southern Hemisphere players as well. Pier fish in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are great sources of bells for players looking for some extra cash, but they’re going to take some time to catch. The easiest way to land big fish at the pier is to take some time collecting bait and then spawning fish at the pier until the shadow is the right size. Hopefully, players in both hemispheres manage to catch every new fish in November.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
