The end of September and the start of fall means there's a new batch of creatures to find in Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming soon. Throughout October, players can search for several new fish and bugs which will vary depending on their chosen hemisphere.

While a handful of bugs and fish are leaving once September ends, an even bigger group is arriving to take their place especially in the South. Besides some old favorites, a few individuals are making their long-awaited debuts in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere such as the Yellow Perch and Clownfish respectively. Similarly, many bugs will be available for some players to finally catch like the elusive Ladybug.

Southern Hemisphere players will have several months to look for all these new bugs. However, Northern Hemisphere players should make it their top priority to find and collect the Ladybug since it won't be coming back until March 2021 once October passes by.

Besides all these additions in each hemisphere, there is still the opportunity to catch other species of fish and bugs that are still around in October. Whether players are trying to fill up their museum collections or earn lots of Bells, catching these critters is the best way to achieve either goal in a few days. But the anticipated New Horizons fall update will be arriving soon, so even the most dedicated individuals planning to collect everything immediately won't have to wait too long for Halloween and other events.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
