The Animal Crossing franchise has been an outlet of creativity for legions of players since the first game's release in 2001. Animal Crossing has become a staple addition to Nintendo's wide scope of first-party franchises and last year's Animal Crossing: New Horizons became one of the developer's fastest-selling games to date. With New Horizons offering even more customization options than previous games, players have fully taken advantage to make their own island paradises.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a title that many fans have turned to during the tumultuous time that has been the last year and a half. The game's bevy of customization options has led to many players using the game as a creative outlet delivering amazing creations like one fan turning their house into Misty's Gym from Pokemon. Recently, one fan used the game's many building options to turn their island into something a bit more menacing.

Reddit user BookwormACNH used a plethora of Mario-related props to transform their island into the legendary Bowser's Castle. Animal Crossing: New Horizons added a bundle of Mario-themed items to Nook Shopping earlier this year so fans can fully turn their islands into the Mushroom Kingdom. The creation features many classic set pieces from the Mario franchise including Thwomps, the flagpoles. and even a pair of Fire Flowers at the castle's entrance. The user also took the chance to dress up their character for the occasion, donning Mario's iconic overalls and cap.

The addition of Mario-themed items into Animal Crossing: New Horizons was met with acclaim by fans for more reasons than just the creativity allowed by the iconic objects. The addition of the Warp Pipe added fast travel to the game, a feature which New Horizons had previously lacked. Other fans discovered the Floating Blocks could be used within the game to create tunnels in New HorizonsAnimal Crossing fans were clamoring for the addition of Mario items, which have been a staple of the life-simulation series, since the game's launch and many fans have taken advantage of their eventual introduction.

New Horizons has seen frequent updates with plenty of new content added since the game's release last March. Major features like swimming and dreaming have added new gameplay experiences, while fan-favorite characters like Redd have returned with Brewster rumored to be coming to the island soon. With Nintendo confirming there will be more updates to come during 2021, fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons should have plenty of things to do on their islands.
