Animal Crossing: New Horizons is full of items for players to collect, be it clothing or furniture. As such, many players quickly filled the storage space of the largest house available, making the recent announcement that more storage is coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons exciting.

The release of more storage will be a big part of the next major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which will see the addition of snow, holiday events, and plenty more items to collect following Thanksgiving. With this huge Winter update arriving to the game soon, the extra storage space for Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes at a perfect time. Players will surely be gathering plenty of trees, stockings, and ornaments over the next several weeks.

As shown in the trailer for the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, a new purchasable upgrade from Tom Nook will see storage space increased from 1600 spots to 2400. The massive boost to the number of items players can store should alleviate some issues for dedicated players going forward, and it is just one of many new additions set to come to the popular game over the next few weeks.

Players do not have to wait long for the increased storage space, as the extra slots arrive on November 19. They will be accompanied by a new chef NPC named Franklin, a character that will make some tasty meals for players to horde. The meal-making Turkey will be coming a week after the storage update, however, as he arrives on Thanksgiving as part of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ special Turkey Day event.

The other major addition highlighted in the trailer is more customization options, such as a collection of unique hairstyles. Players will also be able to acquire a new reaction set, which lets them emote in the same way as the villagers inhabiting the island. From taking selfies to doing yoga, or even sitting on the island floor, players will have more options than ever before when it comes to expressing themselves. Thankfully, these two new Nook Miles items will not take up any of storage space.

With Nintendo constantly providing the game’s players with new ways to have fun and express themselves, it is easy to understand why Animal Crossing: New Horizons benefits mental health. With players soon able to stop stressing about storage space within the game, mental health should only improve further for Animal Crossing fans.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
