An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player shows off their creativity by bringing a scene from The Exorcist to their game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a social simulation game developed by Nintendo, and it is the fifth main entry in the Animal Crossing series. The Exorcist is a supernatural horror film from 1973 that follows the demonic possession of a young girl and her exorcism by Catholic priests.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings players to an island they can share with up to 10 villagers. Without a strong narrative story to follow, players are encouraged to decorate their home as well as the greater island. This creative freedom has led to numerous player creations and tributes to outside games and movies, like the aforementioned Exorcist homage.

This impressive creation comes from u/TonyClifton323, and it is an image from one of the rooms in this player's house in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Featured in their post is a scene from The Exorcist that occurs after the young girl has become possessed by a demon. As the girl's family comes to grips with her illness, she projectile-vomits all over one of the priests there to perform the exorcism. In the scene in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, u/TonyClifton323 has one Animal Crossing character in a vomit-covered night gown making a face at another. On the far wall is a green shape between the two characters. Completing the scene is the other character with green stains on their shirt and face.

There are a few things that make a creation such as this possible. The bed in the foreground is an item that players should be able to acquire through Nook’s Cranny, but the clothing must have been customized. Custom designs are possible in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and can even be shared from player to player. This feature must be responsible for the new-look sweater and night-shirt.

The reactions in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are a great way for players to express themselves in the game world. These faces and motions vary widely and help add some variety for those looking to create scenes such as this one.

Noting that, however, players will often find themselves pulled away by villagers looking to teach them about a new reaction. This does help fill the player’s roster of emotions and reactions, but can quickly become a frustrating prospect for those looking to avoid delays. Either way, this player does a great job setting one of The Exorcist’s more memorable scenes.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
