Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans are constantly crafting homages to their favorite properties, and with a similar tone and aesthetic, aspects of Disney properties can easily be translated to the addictive game. However, one Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has made something outside of the Switch title, going on to share their stellar artwork online.
Normally, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans will recreate scenes from Disney films inside the game, building memorable areas based on certain films and taking photos within them. Some have also made custom outfits to give themselves the dresses worn by Disney princesses, allowing them to dress up as their favorite characters and fully embody them in-game. While all these creations have been incredible and worthy of appreciation, it is hard to top the creativity of designing custom Villagers - which is exactly what Encanto fan and Reddit user washue did.
The creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons player remade the entirety of the family Madrigal as Villagers, and the full lineup can be seen here. Kicking off the list was Mirabel, the film’s protagonist, and the artist transformed the heroic character into a koala. She keeps her signature hairstyle and dress, boasting a cheerful smile like she often does throughout the film. Her glasses are also worn alongside some earrings, and while her design is stellar, her entire family looks incredible in Villager form.
In the Animal Crossing: New Horizons universe, Encanto’s incredibly strong Luisa would be performing “Surface Pressure” as a bear - a fitting choice given her size. According to washue, Isabela would be a deer Villager, a solid choice since most of her appearance is retained. Bruno looks great as a mouse, with his stubble and dark eyes perfectly represented in his character design. Camilo is, fittingly, a chameleon, while Dolores looks great as a bunny. A clever touch from the artist shows her posing like she is using her hearing powers.
Next up is Antonio, and given his love for animals, the young boy looks natural as a tiger. Pepa is a bird while Felix is an elephant, with Mirabel’s mom and dad being a dog and anteater respectively. Rounding out the list is Abuela, who works well as a wise old Eagle Villager. With most of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Villager types represented, and each creation looking incredible, it is no surprise that the post has brought in over 9,000 upvotes in less than a day.
While fans have seen parts of Encanto recreated inside Animal Crossing: New Horizons, turning the film’s characters into Villagers is just as special. With how popular the movie and game are, it would not be too surprising to see creative fans bring them together again in the future.
