It seems Nintendo is determined to continue releasing new content for Animal Crossing: New Horizons despite rumors of delays. Today's Nintendo Direct Mini came with news of a free update in late April, which includes the game's second limited event.

Along with more details about the upcoming Bunny Day event, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons section of the Nintendo Direct Mini teased an Earth Day event. The teaser includes the beloved, environmentally conscious sloth, Lief. Lief is well known for selling plants and gardening tools in other Animal Crossing games, as well as ushering in flower-centered events.

The event will likely entail teaming up with Leif to beautify players' islands through cultivating flowers, plants, and trees. In a similar vein to the Bunny Day event, players can expect to see limited time items that can only be obtained during the event. While no exact release date is given, players can look forward to the event overlapping with Earth Day—April 22nd.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become a staple way to pass time while self-quarantining. The escape from temporary at-home offices to a tropical island getaway is much needed for many people. The upcoming Earth Day event may be just the thing to help people better appreciate the world around them, whether that's in real life or digitally.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
