Animal Crossing: New Horizons boasts a wealth of new content in the wake of the 2.0 Update and Happy Home Paradise DLC. As a result, fans of the Animal Crossing franchise can now create even more in-game tributes to their favorite properties. However, one Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan decided to take the opposite approach and craft some adorable, Animal Crossing-themed figures as a real-life birthday present.
Like many other simulation games, Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers players a lot of customization options for their island, their home, and their villagers. Even the game's player character can be easily altered and made into a strikingly unique design, which can come in handy when playing with friends.
One Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan decided to create adorable figures based on his friend and his friend's girlfriend, known as Skoop and Nikki respectively, as a birthday present. That alone would be impressive, but the creator went above and beyond. He didn't just 3D print two incredibly detailed and game-accurate figures, but he also put together a very professional-looking cardboard and plastic box to store them in. The result could be mistaken for an official Nintendo product freshly removed from a store shelf.
According to a post from Redditor sup3rrn0va, who received the gift, the figures were painted after being printed and then placed into a box designed in Adobe Illustrator. The front shot of the package shows two Animal Crossing villager figures, one with short brown hair and a vest and one with long blonde hair and a flowy white shirt. The back shot, meanwhile, displays a meticulously crafted graphic featuring screenshots of Skoop and Nikki interacting with each other in-game as well as a brief product description. The description mentions the opportunity to meet new friends by buying additional Villager Packs, which may suggest that sup3rrn0va's friend is open to commissions.
As of writing, it appears that other fans are very enthusiastic about this creation. A number of users told sup3rrn0va to marry that friend, which led sup3rrn0va to clarify that he was represented by Skoop and his girlfriend was represented by Nikki. Several users noted that they could have mistaken this fan-creation for official merchandise, while another user wondered if Nintendo would ever create similar custom villager figures. A second user stated that sup3rrn0va's friend could have a future in designing Animal Crossing merchandise, while a third hoped that friend would be hired by Nintendo.
