One of Nintendo's biggest reveals at E3 2019 has gotten a brand new commercial in Japan, just in time for the new year. With the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch release just around the corner, Nintendo has given a smaller look at one of the company's biggest game releases of 2020.

This is the first time Nintendo has highlighted Animal Crossing: New Horizons in a new video since October, when the game was a topic in a recent Nintendo Direct. With New Horizons' release coming in just a few months, this is likely the start of a marketing campaign that will be going live on until well into March.

The new commercial is only a thirty-second spot, likely to play during TV broadcasts or in front of online videos, so be prepared to see it show up on YouTube for the next few months. At the moment, only a Japanese version of the commercial seems to be available online, but Nintendo has been quick to translate trailers and commercials in the past. So, it shouldn't be long before a translated version goes out to the same fans across the world who rallied around the latest screenshots of New Horizons that were released a couple of weeks ago.

The commercial features Tom Nook showing off the new game to a group of Animal Crossing citizens, including fan favorites like Isabella. Once the advertisement gets past the opening sequence, it moves on to showing little snippets of gameplay that show classic game mechanics and new ones coming to New Horizons. Regardless of how short the video may be, it does still give viewers a decent idea of what the game is going to play with, which is nice for players that may be on the fence on the new release.

With only a few months between now and the game's release, players are already hyped to head back into the fun, cartoon world of Animal Crossing. And thanks to new features that have been shown off like 8-player co-op, players have already been excited for one of the most anticipated Switch games of 2020. However, there will likely be more trailers leading up until then and more insight from future Nintendo Directs to inform players of everything there is to be ready for in New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to release on March 20th, 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.
