As Animal Crossing continues to grow as a series, it has added more and more villagers, giving players loads of friends to choose from. There are almost 400 horse, bird, cat, dog, and even sloth villagers that players can build a virtual relationship with. But one of the types with the most villagers are bunnies, and one of the most unique rabbits is Coco.

Animal Crossing Coco's Personality

Coco is a terracotta rabbit in Animal Crossing. She is one of just six villagers that is technically not an animal; the other non-animals are Animal Crossing's Stitches, Sprocket, Del, Ribbot, and Hopkins. Her personality is normal, making her the only normal rabbit of all 21 in the games. Coco is shy, friendly, and sisterly, but also can be easily upset. Like all normal villagers, Coco wakes up at 5 AM and references an imaginary friend named Moppina.

Coco will get along with most others, like other normal villagers like Animal Crossing's Marina. Coco is less likely to get along with those with a cranky personality --she finds them too negative.

Coco's History In Animal Crossing

Coco first appeared in the very first Animal Crossing title, Dobutsu no Mori or Animal Forest which was released in Japan only for the N64. She has subsequently been in every game, appearing in everything from Animal Forest + to New Leaf. Coco also appeared in Happy Home Academy and Pocket Camp.

In New Horizons, Coco's home is decorated with stratified dirt walls, rock chairs and table, a hay bed, and even outdoor tiki torches. Coco is the only villager who was created to look like a gyroid; she is made of what looks like terracotta or clay. Her head is hollow and her eyes and mouth, though they can change sizes, do not have expressions. It makes her personal quote all the more unique: "I'm feeling kind of blank today." Unlike all other rabbits in AC, Coco cannot move her ears around.

Coco's Birthday And More

Coco was born on March 1st, making her a Pisces. Coco's name is either a reference to cocoa or coconut. Her blank expression and smooth, hollow head resemble both the emptiness of the inside of a coconut and the interior of a chocolate bunny. Coco's Japanese name is "Yayoi," a reference to a period of time in Japan when Haniwa statues were first created. Haniwa were the inspiration for Animal Crossing's weird little stone NPCs called gyroids.
