November looks to be an exciting month for Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a large free update as well as a large paid DLC will be made available for fans on November 5th. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has proved to be incredibly successful, not just as an installment in the Animal Crossing franchise, but also as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

The success of Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be contributed to many different factors, but something all fans can agree on is how amazing the anthropomorphic animals in the series are. Because of their appearance though, one can sometimes momentarily forget the animals they’re based on. Four beautiful and realistic paintings of Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters were drawn by user theheyfrancis. Several key characters such as Tom Nook, Isabelle, Daisy (the turnip merchant), K.K Slider, and more were the focus of these realistic paintings. Oftentimes when looking at realistic depictions of anthropomorphic animals, there is can be some uncomfortable-like feeling attached. It’s not always the case, but it can happen. That being said, the drawings from theheyfrancis are anything but uncomfortable.

The paintings of these Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters make the cast seem as wonderfully adorable in real life as they are in the video game. That’s partially because of the setting and the items these characters have on them. For example, the first painting that depicts Tom Nook shows the animal wearing his usual dress shirt for work while having a large stack of bells sitting beside him. Meanwhile, K.K Slider is sitting next to a campfire with his guitar laying against a log. They’re small details but works in the favor of the painting to depict these characters in a way where fans would instantly recognize them, but also smile at the images.

Theheyfrancis teased more realistic paintings that could be on the way in celebration of the massive updates coming out next month. Despite these updates being the last for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they will introduce a plethora of new characters and fun activities for fans to enjoy for many hours. They'll even introduce new animals that future paintings can draw inspiration from.

The recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct showcased how massive and popular the Nintendo Switch installment has become.
