Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a smash hit for the Nintendo Switch since its release in March 2020. In fact, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still setting sales records over a year after its release, recently breaking Nintendo of Europe's one-year sales record by selling 7 million units in just one year.

Unsurprisingly, Nintendo has been capitalizing on New Horizons's success with various brand collaborations, with one of the most recent partnerships being with Build-A-Bear. Though Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Tom Nook and Isabelle have already been released as Build-A-Bear plushies, the company is now teasing a third Animal Crossing themed plushie coming later this summer.

The confirmation comes by way of the official Build-A-Bear Twitter account, which tweeted out in celebration of the successful launch of the Tom Nook and Isabelle plushies. The original collaboration, which only featured those 2 characters as Build-A-Bears, launched on April 6 but quickly sold out that same day. As such, the tweet mentions that Isabelle and Tom Nook will return to online and in-person stores "soon." However, the tweet closes by teasing a third addition to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Build-A-Bear line which will be "arriving this summer."

It's really anyone's guess as to who the third Animal Crossing character could be, but the previous line may just help make guessing a bit easier. While the third character could very well be one of New Horizons' most popular villagers, like Raymond or Judy, the previous characters being Isabelle and Tom Nook suggests the third may likely be another non-villager character. This means that the third character could potentially be a popular NPC such as Blathers, Celeste, KK Slider, Sable, or Flick. Of course, only time will tell who this next mystery Build-A-Bear will be.

Regardless, it seems that this Build-A-Bear and Animal Crossing: New Horizons crossover was a massive success, despite the quick notice of the collaboration. Nintendo of America promoted the Build-A-Bear collaboration one day ahead the official reveal, meaning fans didn't have too much time to prepare themselves. Still, considering the two plushies sold out on the same day they released is pretty staggering. Luckily, those who missed out on Isabelle and Tom Nook this time around will get another shot in the future.

Additionally, those readers who missed out this time can look at what the process of ordering the New Horizons Build-A-Bear plushies will be like by the time they are restocked. For those who have tried to order a PS5 online in the past few months, the process is not all too different from that, provided readers are ordering their Build-A-Bear online. However, it wouldn't be too surprising if these next run of plushies sold out just as quickly as the previous. Hopefully, Build-A-Bear provides a more plentiful supply by the time the third Animal Crossing: New Horizons character is revealed and available for purchase.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
