An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan was probably enjoying the 2.0 update, minding their business, when they accidentally watered too close to one of their new fences. For some reason, the fence's direction changes suddenly. After making sure they knew how they did it and if they could do it again, they shared this unusual interaction on the Animal Crossing: New Horizon subreddit.

Usually, nothing happens if the fence gets watered, not even an animation for the water dripping off of the wall. A fan recently discovered that, for some reason, if a very specific section of fencing gets watered it can change the construction of the wall. The player is using one of the fences that originally came with the game, but it seems like the glitch can even happen with any fencing, including the ones recently introduced in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update.

The fan posted a video of the glitch onto the r/animalcrossing subreddit that shows them consistently replicating the glitch. User "EverEverything" claims that for the bug to happen, it must be a part of the fencing that is previously placed in a different direction to the rest of the fencing pattern. To produce the bug, the difference in the fencing pattern must be at the end of a continuous fence and must be the same fence type. Watering the last connecting point before the pattern change will cause the bug to occur and reorient the end to match the rest of the fence. A later comment also states that the bug can occur with either the flimsy watering can that waters one specific area or the more durable watering can tool that can cover a larger area. The player also states that re-logging the fence does not correct the bug.

It is an odd bug, but innocent in nature as nothing else around the immediate area seems to change. The game doesn't break or cause anything malicious to occur with the surrounding area or the game itself. The original poster and the commenters under the thread seem to take it all in stride. Some other commenters claim that they have also seen this bug occur in their games. Players can add another funny glitch that can occur within Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Purrl and new fence items in animal crossing new horizons

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update seems to have launched with quite a few bugs but they've all seemed to be of the fun and quirky variety. A bug was reported recently where a sister visiting another's Animal Crossing island suddenly floated into the roof after they collided. This can probably be attributed to something with the game's multiplayer that is known to cause some unique interactions

Another glitch in the game will cause items that were placed on the mythical 4th Level of an island to disappear. The level does take a bit of manipulation to get to, but after the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Update players that had items on the 4th Level reported that they went missing. The original poster later found the missing items in the Recycle Bin in the Residential Services building. It is assumed that the coding of the 2.0 Update has made the technique to get to that level harder to get to again.
