Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently added the free 2.0 Update and Happy Home Paradise DLC, both of which introduced a number of new and returning characters to the game. Among these new arrivals is fan-favorite Brewster, a kindly pigeon who manages a cafe called The Roost, which appears as part of the museum. One Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan celebrated Brewster's arrival by sharing an adorable video of him taking to the stage and singing his little heart out.

Like the perennial Animal Crossing favorite K.K. Slider, Brewster was introduced in a previous game - namely, the 2005 Nintendo DS title Animal Crossing: Wild World. Since then, he's appeared in a number of Animal Crossing games, and each time he's brought his cafe with him. While fans appear to be quite fond of this feathery friend, few seem to have spotted him singing before.

Redditor HamonadoDeQuezo shared a 20-second-long video showcasing Brewster happily chirping into the microphone with an unexpectedly high-pitched voice. This may surprise fans, as Brewster is usually depicted as speaking in a very low voice - or at least, a low series of adorable beeping noises, as Animal Crossing characters speak using similar sound effects to Undertale characters. According to HamonadoDeQuezo, the simplest explanation for Brewster's falsetto singing voice is that the player got him from an Amiibo card.

Before Brewster was properly implemented in the game, a Brewster Amiibo card was released as Series 4, Card 302. Apparently, HamonadoDeQuezo scanned this card and plopped Brewster next to the microphone in the vacation home they were designing for Shino the deer villager as part of the Happy Home Paradise DLC. They reported being quite surprised when he started singing.

As of writing, it appears that other fans are interested in what caused Brewster to sing in such a high voice. According to a number of other users, all of the VIP characters - including K.K. Slider - sing in the same high-pitched voice. One user theorizes that these characters lack a specific singing tone, so the game used a default voice for them. Another user suspects that K.K. Slider has been putting on a fake singing voice all this time. A third user put forth yet another theory: the VIP characters are lip-syncing to a recording of Olive the cub villager singing, which would explain the squeaky voices. Whatever the case, the end result is an adorable concert from one of the series' most popular characters.
