For almost two years, players have managed to envision some truly remarkable creations within Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From recreations of cartoon openings, to custom clothing, to entire islands themed after different games and aesthetics, Animal Crossing: New Horizons provides players with a number of tools to make a surprising amount of content and share it online. Now, one player has recreated one of the most iconic areas from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

For many players, Breath of the Wild is one of the most ambitious and engaging open-world games ever made. With every element of the gameplay and user interactivity centered around exploration, the world of Breath of the Wild needs to be engaging by design. Thus, Breath of the Wild is populated with memorable locations for players to discover. A Reddit user named Naydinfar-Crossing made an extremely acurate recreation of the Lost Woods area in Breath of the Wild using Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The user even managed to time the screenshot so that it had a combination of fog and snow as a way of recreating the fog effect seen in Breath of the Wild. Not to mention that their in-game avatar has the same hair and clothes as Breath of the Wild's Link.

It's truly amazing to see how accurate some of these recreations can get, especially given some of the limitations presented within Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Since its initial launch back in March of 2020, there have a lot of interesting and unexpected pieces of fan content to arise online. For instance, one player managed to recreate Onett from Earthbound in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Although, what's perhaps more valuable are the ways in which Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be used to interact with other people all over the world. For many countries, COVID-19 has still negatively impacted several facets of everyday life, with some nations even barring international travel. Hence, the use of digital media and video games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons has given many people a way of staying in touch with others.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Animal Crossing: New Horizons going forward. The final free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons released back in early November and yet, the game's community of players is still prevalent online. It will likely be some time before the amount of online popularity for the game dies down.
