November will be a big month for Animal Crossing: New Horizons since it was released last year. Not only is the game going to receive a free update that includes a wide variety of quality-of-life improvements, but Nintendo is also releasing the Happy Home Paradise DLC, which opens up new experiences and gameplay mechanics for players to enjoy.

Although Nintendo confirmed that the upcoming update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons would be the last for the game, the company also revealed that a new series of amiibo cards would be released on November 5. The upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons Series 5 amiibo cards will feature 48 characters, some of which will be new additions not included in previous iterations.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - All Series 5 Amiibo Cards

Up until this point, Nintendo has released five series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards, consisting of four main series and one promotional set called amiibo Festival. According to a post via the official Animal Crossing: New Horizons account, Series 5 features 48 characters and 42 of them will be getting an amiibo card for the first time. For those wondering, the characters featured in previous Animal Crossing amiibo cards are Timmy and Tommy, Isabelle, Celeste, Gulliver, and Lottie.

As for the other 42 characters, players can expect to see special characters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, such as Orville, and Wilbur who works at Dodo Airlines, as well as the iconic Tom Nook, Mable, and Sable from The Able Sisters, and Blathers, who runs the local museum. Luckily for Animal Crossing fans, Series 5 also includes New Horizons villagers that were never given amiibo cards before, such as the ever-popular cat villager Raymond, Audie, Reneigh, and many more. Of course, having these villagers featured in amiibo cards allows players to have another option of inviting them to live on the island apart from randomly encountering them in the campsite or one of the unique islands.

Amiibo Cards and Where to Pre-order Series 5?

animal crossing amiibo cards

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can scan amiibo cards to invite villagers to live on their islands. It is worth noting that this feature will only be unlocked once the player has established a campground that allows random villagers to drop by for a visit. Additionally, amiibo cards can be scanned at Harvey's island for photoshoots. Once the upcoming update is installed, players can also scan amiibo cards at Brewster's The Roost cafe to invite a villager for a drink. Lastly, players can also use amiibo cards to bring specific villagers as a client in the upcoming Happy Home Paradise DLC.

In the U.S., the new set of Series 5 Animal Crossing amiibo cards are sold in packs of 6. However, it should be noted that this would vary in other countries where they're sold in three packs. The villagers included in each pack are also selected at random, so it could take players a few sets to get a specific villager they're hunting for. Pre-orders for the Series 5 Animal Crossing amiibo cards are available right now in select retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart. Each pack costs $5.99, and players interested in snagging a few sets should start their hunt now, given that the amiibo cards go in and out of stock due to high demand.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for Nintendo Switch.
